Independent reviews of software for law firms.
Owlesq is a curated directory. We are not a marketplace, not a reseller, and not paid by every vendor we list.
What we cover
Practice management, e-discovery, contract review, billing, document automation, legal research, IP management, intake, and time tracking — the categories that show up over and over in real firm tech stacks. We start with the tools attorneys are already using and grow from there.
How we curate
- Independent listings. Any vendor that meets our criteria can be listed. Inclusion is not for sale.
- Editor-picked features. The “Featured” flag is editorial. It signals tools we think most lawyers should evaluate first in their category — not who paid us.
- No affiliate revenue. Owlesq has no affiliate relationships with any vendor listed and earns no commission on outbound clicks. Placement is editorial.
- Vendor profiles. Vendors can claim their profile to keep details accurate. Profiles stay fact-only — marketing copy doesn’t replace our description.
Editorial standards
Every tool in our directory is reviewed against a consistent set of criteria: feature completeness for the named category, pricing accuracy (we verify published rates against vendor pricing pages and flag “Contact for pricing” where public rates are unavailable), firm-size fit, and integration ecosystem. Reviews are conducted by the Owlesq editorial team and updated at least annually or when a vendor makes a substantive change.
We do not accept payment to influence review scores, rankings, or the Featured designation. If you spot an error — outdated pricing, a missing feature, or a factual inaccuracy — please reach out directly:
For vendors
If you build software for law firms and we don’t list you yet, get in touch. The fastest path to inclusion is a working product, public pricing or sales motion, and at least one verifiable customer in the legal industry.
